Objectives of the Position

Responsible for shift related Production Activities in Dispersions Plant (Poly line 1– 55kt and Poly line 2 – 45kt), Dahej involving Process Safety, Health and Environmental activities related to the plant and personnel working.

Main Areas of Responsibilities and Key Activities

Related to Production:

1) Coordinate and manage production in shift with consistent quality as per the target.

2) Continuous improvement of processes in coordination with the Head – Dispersions Plant & Quality control to reduce batch cycle times, increase in yields, increase operational ease and ultimately leading to cost effective production.

3) Guiding a group of Officers / Operators in the plant continuously to ensure product quality of international standard.

4) Implement Safety, Health and Environment system of the plant concerning man and equipment.

5) Update knowledge regarding product through proper channel.

6) Ensuring proper maintenance of all the norms as per the departmental operating procedures of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 & ISO 50001.

7) Assist to shift Incident Controller in case of emergency in the site.

8) Assist to Site Emergency Controller in Silent Hours (i.e., 5:00 PM to 8:30 AM on weekdays & on Weekly offs and Public Holidays).

9) Guide shop floor personnel towards SHE, Responsible Care, cleanliness of the plant (5S) and in discipline for improving the BASF’s safe work culture in the shifts. This ensures compliance of BASF’s statutory requirements, which also includes the training of the subordinates regarding the safety aspects and handling of the critical monomers / hazardous chemicals.

10) Ensure that discharge parameters of all the emissions in the plant are within the statutory limits and health and hygiene of the plant personnel is well maintained in the shifts.

11) Adherence to the PPE usage of the plant personnel and work permit system is properly followed in the shifts.

12) Compliance to process safety and environmental protection code as per BASF Practice.

13) Ensure the documentation of Responsible care requirement on continual basis.
