Looking for "Head EHS" with 12-15 years of experience in Industrial Safety and Health in Chemical Manufacturing Industries.

Role specific competencies and skills: Risk assessment/management, Conflict management and problem-solving skills, Leadership, Investigation.
Should have an Eye for observation. Should be good in Communication & knowledge of EHS regulations and policies.

Job Responsibilities:

Zero Accident & Incidents


• Knowledge of plant process, safety process and industrial hygiene.

• Ensure Zero Accidents, Zero Environment related incidents and Zero Occupational illness.

• To maintain total fire protection system

• Develop HAZOP system and develop SHE procedure, Calculation of fire load, safety audit etc.

• Identification and elimination of unsafe conditions and activities.

• Monthly safety audits.

• Organizing Monthly committee safety meetings and execution of Actionable points.

• Receiving safety suggestions and implementing the same.

• Attending complaints to improve safety conditions.

• Periodically review and monitor the site operations, processes and procedures and ensure that they are in accordance with safe & best practices and comply with health and safety regulations in alignment with set Departmental policy and procedures

• Introduction and maintenance of various work permits in hazardous areas.

• To identify, evaluate & compliance with unsafe conditions.

• Implement OSHAS, HIRA, LOTO, etc.

• Generating related MIS and related reports


Awareness & Training


• Advising employers / employees on safe & healthy work practices & health/ safety management systems and prepare and implement a safety plan.

• Conducting induction trainings and classroom trainings to employees & contract workers; facilitating HSE Training, Induction Training, motivational & awareness programs e.g., BBS etc.

• Regular training for contract workers.


• Firefighting training for the employees and ensuring effectiveness.

• Mock drill and presentation of safety manual.

Drive safety mindset at factory to eradicate unsafe acts, unsafe conditions, and near misses and implement 100% PPE usage

• Organizing Events in respect of sustainability, environment (World, Environment Day),

• Training of employees on various SHE subjects.

• Safety Week for employee engagement in coordination with all concerned. Run Campaigns for Community Concern and Safety Programs for Contractual Labors like Toolbox Talk etc

Safety Audits & Investigations


• Accident and incident investigation report preparation.

• Conducting Internal and External safety Internal Audits & Risk Assessment, mapping at site to identify significant risks and controls to mitigate the same.

• Internal safety audit.

• Review and update of safety standards.

• Spearheading the development, implementation, and maintenance of Standards like: ISO

14001, ISO 45001, IATF 16949, Responsible Care logo, TFS, CDP, Ecovadis, BSC, B85 etc

Statutory Compliance

• Liaison with government regulatory & statutory bodies like Pollution Control Board, CGWA, Fire department etc. as and when required.

• To obtain CTO from Haryana State Pollution Control Board (HSPCB).

• Develop Plan for Safety and Health Development, conduct periodic reviews and corrective actions,

• Emergency preparedness & response planning.

• Effluent Treatment & Pollution Control Devices

• Monitor/Audit ETP & other environmental parameters to ensure that effluent parameters & other environmental parameters are as per the HSPCB norms.

• Waste management and coordination with all authorized & approved vendors for its disposal.

• Effective visual management w.r.t. Safety & Health & Environment.

Environmental

• Looking after all Environmental aspects and driving as per applicable govt. Norms like CGWA regulations.

• Monitoring the CTO rules/ guidelines and arranging for its renewal at defined time.


Qualifications & Experience:

B.Tech (Chemical/ Industrial safety) with 12-15 Years of experience/Graduate with PG Diploma in industrial Safety & Health & 15+ years' experience in EHS department in Chemical Manufacturing process plant

Core Competency & Critical Skills:


Risk assessment/management, Conflict management and problem-solving skills,

Leadership, Investigation.

Should have an Eye for observation.

Desirable Requirements/ Personal Attributes and Skill Sets:

Should be good in Communication & knowledge of EHS regulations and policies.

Additional Requirements - if any:

Authority:

Spend for various EHS activity as per approved Budget.

Taking required penal actions for cases where PPE's usage & Safety Standards are not followed.

 Stoppage of work in plant if safety work permit/standard procedures are violated.

Establishing accident prevention programs (Identification of accident-free zone, probable causes for accident, prioritizing hazards, developing corrective measures etc.)

Identifying occupational diseases and acting for improvement, including suggesting changes required.
