Job Responsibilities:

- Develop and execute a strategic roadmap for API research and development in alignment with the company's pharmaceutical goals.

- Identify and prioritize research areas and therapeutic targets for API development.

- Recruit, mentor, and manage a skilled team of scientists, researchers, and engineers.

- Foster a culture of innovation, scientific rigor, and compliance within the team.

- Set clear performance expectations and provide regular feedback to team members.

- Lead the design and execution of research projects aimed at identifying new API candidates.

- Oversee the development and optimization of API manufacturing processes.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of API into drug development.

- Ensure that all API development activities adhere to regulatory standards and guidelines (e.g., FDA, EMA).

- Collaborate with regulatory affairs teams to prepare and submit regulatory filings.

- Establish and enforce quality control standards and procedures for API manufacturing.

- Conduct thorough analytical testing and validation to ensure API quality and purity.

- Oversee the scale-up of API production processes from lab-scale to commercial-scale.

- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure efficient and cost-effective API production.

- Collaborate with external research institutions, universities, and industry partners to leverage expertise and resources.

- Maintain comprehensive documentation of API development processes and results.

- Manage the budget and allocate resources effectively to support API research and development projects.

- Extensive experience in pharmaceutical API research and development.

- Strong leadership and team management skills.

- In-depth knowledge of organic chemistry and API synthesis.

- Familiarity with pharmaceutical regulatory requirements.

- Proficiency in analytical techniques and equipment.

- Experience with technology transfer from research to manufacturing.

- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

- Ability to make data-driven decisions and solve complex problems.

- Strong project management and budgeting skills.
