Position: Sr. Engineer Environment CBM Shahdol

Location : Shahdol

Key Attributes (Experience and Qualifications)

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: M.Tech in Environmental Engineering with Post Graduation in Environmental Science or equivalent.

Specific experience: Certified ISO-14001 auditor.

OVERALL EXPERIENCE: 5-10 years of working experience required in upstream (E&P) Oil/ Gas / Petchem / refinery industry.

Education Requirement :

B.Tech / M.Tech in safety from recognize university.

Experience Requirement :

Minimum 6 years working experience in upstream (E&P) Oil/Gas / Petchem / refinery.

Job Responsibilities :

Conducting Safety inspections and audits at the drill sites including pre startup safety inspections with a view to identify the unsafe conditions.

Interact with contractors, prepare bridging documents, organise safety meetings and ensure HSE compliance at the drill sites.

Advise the mines / HSE manager on measures necessary to prevent dangerous occurrences

Enquire into the circumstances and causes of all incidents and advice to prevent recurrence.

Ensuring compliance of conditions related with clearances and other statutory requirements of HSE.

Organise regular safety training, education and awareness programme.

Submission of all the returns, information and reports.

Provide data for obtaining the statutory permissions, consents and clearances related with HSE.

Ensure implementation of HSE management system of Reliance Industries Limited.

Coordinate with the safety officers of the service providers

Selection of suitable equipment and services within the allotted budget

Sr. Eng. Environment is responsible to arrange regular environmental monitoring. To assist in implementation of the environmental permit conditions. Preparation and submission of environmental compliance reports to statutory bodies. To involve in Environmental Management System improvement initiatives. To improve environmental conditions and greenbelt development at sites.

Job Accountabilities

Assist in achieving environmental statutory compliance by site.

Ensure timely submission of reports for statutory submission as required – Environment Statement, Environment Audit Reports, Annual return under Hazardous Waste Management rules & biomedical waste management rules, monthly reports, six monthly post project monitoring reports, etc.

Involve in environmental compliance management and sustainability Audit.

Assist in implementation and maintenance of Integrated Management System (IMS- ISO 9000/14000), procedures and standards.

Responsible for implementing, monitoring and improving of environment management system in order to avoid environment incidents.

Plan and ensure Water, Noise, Ambient Air Quality and Stack Emission Monitoring of GTC, GEG and Diesel Engine Generators by MoEF approved agency.

Keep a track record of the results of environmental analysis / monitoring and take necessary preventive / protective measures.

Supporting the plant in implementation of environment procedures and updates them periodically on environment issues as per company management system requirements.

Prepares the annual environment management plan and develops a tracking system to ensure proper fulfilment of the departmental objectives.

Plan and manage necessary upgrades / changes / modifications needed in systems and equipment to improve pollution.

Conduct audits of Environment Management System as well as various RIL group environment standards and contribute in various internal as well as external Audits.

Impart training to all the employees / contractor’s on environmental compliance/ management and creating awareness on environment.

Contribute to activities in effective utilisation of wastes or waste management, ETP operation etc.

Support Promotion of environment awareness within the site by organising innovative activities.

Plan and monitor tree plantation for green belt development.

Any other job assigned by Department Head (HSE) in the areas of Environmental Compliances and Environmental Management Systems.

Skills Required (Knowledge and Skills)

Should have knowledge of Environmental Legislations and Environmental Management Systems.

Should have sound knowledge of air, water and noise monitoring equipments.

Shall be capable of interpret and analyse the results of environmental monitoring.

Experience/Exposure to Sustainability, GHG emission control etc.

Environmental auditing skills & competency.

Exposure to exploration methods for CBM/oil/gas will be added advantage.

Be a team player.

Skills & Competencies :

Knowledge on Indian regulatory requirements & Standards and international industry Best practices for CBM operations.

Should be a good team player to associate with various CBM teams.

Shall have a good understanding of Incident investigation and root cause analysis.

Shall have good understanding of Hazard identification and risk assessment.
