Position: Plant Engineering Manager

The purpose of this position is to provide the essential technical guidance and knowledge with execution of administrative processes as listed.

As a PEM, you will lead the multi -disciplined engineering team for small to large-sized, portions of or entire mega-sized projects. Responsible for the delivery of engineering to AP's high safety and quality standards, meeting or improving on cost, schedule, and project defined milestones.

Promote AP’s competitiveness within the global marketplace by delivering services and technical competence.

This role leads the engineering effort and is responsible for coordinating the individual Engineering Discipline Leads such that the most cost-effective total project solution for executing engineering work is achieved.

Manages inter-disciplinary information flows, interfaces, and conflicts. Working with leads and other project stakeholders manages Vendor and contractor interface to support project need. Keeps tracking of open actions / TQs etc. and co-ordinates for their close out.

Direct and manage the interface between Engineering and the other disciplines on the project including Project Controls, Project Management, Procurement and Contracts, Construction, and Operations etc.

Translate global strategic initiatives into procedures to be implemented on projects.

Act as a leader in encouraging and applying Value Engineering techniques for cost- effective design.

Ensure that the engineering work on the project is completed on schedule, meets AP’s quality standards including review meetings and checking procedures,

Monitors progress and performance to ensure adherence to the baseline man hour and material budgets, required deliverables are produced, change management is executed in a timely manner, and Engineering Department Managers are apprised of issues related to their function.

Capable of foreseeing, analyzing and escalating issues arising from operations and resource constraints. Work with Discipline Leads and Engineering Department Managers to ensure that staffing levels are appropriate to achieve the engineering schedule commitments and personnel are assigned with appropriate capability.

Work with construction and operations for reviews, construction priority and Field engineering support.

Ensures that lessons learned for engineering are clearly identified, recorded and communicated.

Leads the activity of Engineering Close out preparation.

Excellent written and verbal communication with internal and external stakeholders.

Other duties as assigned.
