Role Summary

You will be responsible for operating process units, managing material handling, and manufacturing high-quality chemical products while strictly adhering to safety protocols and established guidelines. Designation: Jr. Process Chemist
Required Education : Diploma in Chemical Engineering with a strong academic background.
Experience: 1 to 5 years of experience in the chemical industry, preferably within a specialty chemical company setting.

Key Responsibilities
- Operations & Production: Safely operate industrial equipment (manual and DCS operation), follow detailed batch sheet instructions to process chemical products, and manage the loading/unloading/sampling of various material containers (tank cars/trucks, drums).
- Data & Compliance: Accurately track, record, and enter production data into the ERP (SAP) system. Report non-conformances/deviations, participate in troubleshooting, and provide valuable suggestions for process improvement.
- Maintenance & Safety: Maintain equipment cleanliness, perform minor maintenance tasks (e.g., leaks, oil top-ups), and prepare equipment safely for maintenance work using proper work permits and procedures.
- Team Collaboration: Coordinate effectively with Quality Assurance Lab (QAL) and Maintenance departments.
- Safety & Emergency Response: Ensure good housekeeping, participate in plant emergency response team activities (Rescue Squad), and contribute to safety audits, Hazop studies, and preparing Job Safety Analyses (JSA).
Exposure:
- Prior exposure to plant operations and working with hazardous chemicals.
- Experience working on DCS (Distributed Control Systems).
- Familiarity with basic instruments and mechanical equipment.
- Awareness of safety and environmental protection standards in the process industry.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong understanding of hazardous materials and safety procedures (MSDS, JSA’s).
- Good interpersonal communication skills (verbal and written).
- Ability to plan tasks, work independently, and take initiative.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and solve problems efficiently.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with ERP systems (SAP preferred).
Desirable Qualifications:
- Awareness of 5S methodology.
- Basic understanding of P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams).
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance programs and emergency handling procedures.
