About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Process Design Engineer to join our manufacturing team in Navi Mumbai. This role focuses on the installation and maintenance of process simulation software tools, critical analysis of plant data, equipment design, and supporting technology groups in problem-solving and system engineering.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work Output & Engineering Analysis
- Installation and maintenance of essential software tools for process design and troubleshooting.
- Utilize simulation software for revamp studies, 'what-if' scenarios, and critical data analysis for model tuning.
- Generate Heat & Material balances (H&MB) and comprehensive equipment process data sheets.
- Perform and check equipment design and revamp calculations; support physical equipment installation.
- Participate in P&ID reviews, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and benchmarking activities.
- Support technology groups with chronic problem solving and perform complex system engineering tasks.
- Check detailed calculations for hydraulics, utility networks, and flare system design/analysis.
- Prepare technical inquiry documents for vendors (LBEC), review offers, and conduct preliminary economic analysis (OPEX, CAPEX/EBITDA).
- Technology & Data Management
- Identify needs for interaction with external institutes for specialized model development.
- Manage and update process design data, models, and databases using standard software.
- Ensure accurate record-keeping compliant with IPR requirements.
- HSE & Regulatory Compliance
- Develop strong awareness of HSE procedures, MSDS of chemicals, and local statutory regulations.
- Participate actively in Process Safety Management (PSM) activities, HAZOP, and SIL studies.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education Requirement: Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from a reputed university, Master's or Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering.
Experience Requirement:
- Minimum 5 years of total relevant experience.
- At least 2 years of hands-on experience using process simulation software.
Skills & Competencies:
- Thorough understanding of core chemical engineering principles.
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and continuous learning abilities.
- Excellent communication (written and presentation) skills.
- Ability to quickly master new simulation software and understand complex process plants.
- Strong interpersonal skills for building and maintaining relationships.
