This pivotal role within the R&D Regulatory Affairs business unit focuses on the critical scale-up and technology transfer of new API processes from the lab to commercial production. You will bridge the gap between laboratory development and plant operations, ensuring efficiency, safety, and regulatory compliance
Job Requirements:
Department: R&D
Designation: Executive – Process Engineering
Qualification: B.Tech in Chemical Engineering is mandatory.
Experience: 2 to 6 years of relevant experience in API Process Engineering, R&D, or Technology Transfer within the pharmaceutical or fine chemical industry..
Key Responsibilities :
- Process Understanding & Data Generation: Acquire thorough process understanding by observing lab-scale batches and generating critical data for unit operations (reaction, distillation, extraction, crystallization, filtration, and drying) essential for successful scale-up.
- Safety & Handling Evaluation: Evaluate raw materials, products, and by-products to collect data for their safe handling, storage, and disposal procedures.
- Commercial Scale Hardware Identification: Identify and define hardware requirements for commercial manufacturing facilities using data collected from Lab, Kilo Lab, and Pilot Plant scales.
- Plant Modification & Execution: Evaluate and select appropriate plant facilities, propose necessary modifications, and ensure timely completion of upgrades for commercial scale. Execute plant batches according to process requirements and provide troubleshooting support as needed.
Required Competencies & Skills:
We are looking for a proactive engineer with a strong technical foundation and excellent soft skills:
- Good understanding of core Chemical Engineering Unit operations.
- Strong knowledge of process development methodologies.
- Thorough understanding of internal SOPs related to API R&D, Analytical Development (AD), Quality Control (QC), and Regulatory Affairs (RA).
- Knowledge and experience in Technology Transfer activities.
- Proven Project Management Skills.
- Effective Communication Skills (Verbal & Written).
- Strong Problem-Solving abilities.
