Qualification: Bachelor's Degree (B.E./B.Tech.) in Chemical Engineering

Job Purpose:

The Process Engineer will be responsible for engineering activities related to process design, project execution, equipment installation, commissioning, and process optimization to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable plant operations while coordinating with cross-functional teams.

Required Skills & Competencies:

• Knowledge of PFDs, P&IDs, process calculations and engineering documentation.
• Experience with process equipment, piping systems, valves, pumps, heat exchangers, reactors and utilities.
• Knowledge of HAZOP, PSSR, Process Safety Management (PSM) and risk assessment.
• Hands-on experience in plant commissioning and troubleshooting.
• Good understanding of GMP, EHS and statutory compliance.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and project coordination skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office and AutoCAD (preferred).
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise erection and installation of process equipment, piping, valves and instrumentation as per approved P&IDs and engineering drawings.
• Prepare Basic Engineering Packages (BEP), equipment datasheets, utility packages and process documentation.
• Lead pre-commissioning and commissioning activities for brownfield projects.
• Coordinate with Production, QA, Maintenance, EHS and other engineering teams to ensure timely project completion.
• Prepare equipment datasheets, evaluate vendor quotations and provide technical recommendations.
• Supervise fabrication contractors for piping, equipment installation and project execution within timelines.
• Participate in plant start-up, performance trials and process validation activities.
• Monitor process parameters and recommend improvements to enhance productivity, safety and quality.
• Maintain engineering records, commissioning reports, inspection records and project documentation.
• Participate in HAZOP, PSSR, risk assessments and other process safety studies.
• Develop and implement SOPs, work instructions and process improvement initiatives.
• Support troubleshooting of plant operations and identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvement.
• Ensure compliance with GMP, EHS requirements, statutory regulations and company standards.
