1) Production – DCS Engineer / DCS Production Executive
Designation: DCS Engineer / DCS Production Executive
Experience: 3 to 6 years of hands-on experience in a DCS-operated batch process.
Qualification: Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Chemical Engineering.
Process Type: Fully DCS-Controlled Batch Processing
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and execute stage-wise batch chemical processes through the DCS.
- Handle recipe management, sequencing, phase transitions and critical parameters (temperature, pressure, vacuum, level and flow rates) as per SOPs.
- Manage critical, exothermic reactions & Solvent Recovery safely by tracking cooling/heating jackets, dosing rates and reflux loops via DCS.
- Execute safe plant startups, orderly phase shifts and controlled shutdowns through automation.
- Respond to DCS interlocks, alarms and trip signals; analyze trends and diagnose root causes for process abnormalities.
- Coordinate with field operators and chemists to cross-verify physical field parameters, sample collections and manual valves.
- Maintain accurate electronic batch sheets, shift logs, production reports and stage-wise input/output entries.
- Ensure strict adherence to safety guidelines, PTW and JSA systems.
- Maintain good housekeeping and 5S standards in control room and plant areas.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in major DCS platforms (e.g., Emerson Delta V, Yokogawa CENTUM VP, Honeywell Experion PKS or Siemens PCS 7) with a solid understanding of batch logic.
- Sound ability to read and interpret P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams) and PFDs (Process Flow Diagrams).
- Good shift communication, inter-departmental coordination (Engineering, QC, EHS) and readiness to work in rotational shifts.
